用中文寫了一篇立冬，在請google大神翻譯成英文，在請我家駱先生修改修改，然後寄給加拿大友人。我們是10/23離開渥太華的，10/31離開加拿大，兩個星期變化這麼大！
[立冬 lìdōng] is one of the twenty-four solar terms of Chinese meteorology. Every year between November 6-8, the Position of the sun is located at 225° of the ecliptic longitude .
[立冬 lìdōng] said that winter began here. [立 lì] is the beginning of the meaning, [冬 dōng] is winter, but also the end, the meaning of everything collection.
[立冬 lìdōng] This solar term is that all the autumn crops have been harvested, collected and stored, and the animals have been hidden for hibernation.
Therefore, the Chinese also used [立冬 lìdōng] as the beginning of winter.
After the [立冬 lìdōng] ，the southerly wind weakened and the north wind strengthened; the temperature dropped and the change was obvious; the rain became less, the air generally became dry, and the soil contained less water. At this time, attention was paid to the fire prevention work in the forest area.
[立冬lìdōng] This day,generally, every family to cook some special foods, which are high-protein and food-promoting foods, such as sesame oil chicken, ginger duck, and angelica sheep. The intention is that these foods can be supplemented and prepared to withstand winter cold.
Therefore, when you snow on November 7, the wisdom of the old ancestors can really predict the current weather! The continental climate usually conforms to the description of the 24 solar terms, while Taiwan, which located near the Tropic of Cancer, is an island that is not fully consistent. But today, the temperature in Taipei has also dropped significantly, and you can wear a thin jacket!
